ofakind:

You know what goes well with piled-on scarves? These brass earrings that Laura Lombardi made for us in Chicago from some vintage magic that she sourced just for the purpose. Truth be told, they’ll mesh just as well with wispy summer dresses when it’s that time of year—a season that feels a long way off right about now. —erica

@Naagofficial loves @LauraLombardi …xo

Laura Lombardi has knocked our proverbial socks off with her eponymous jewelry line. And please don’t be fooled by pieces named after an archer, zebra, rosemary, masonry and so on — her work may be artisanal and organic but it is also futuristic and fashion forward. Think: a huge spaceship landing in the Serengeti, from which emerges a crew of 13th century hunter-gatherer surfs.

Combining geometric shapes that exist in nature with manmade concepts, Lombardi executes hand craftsmanship and of-the-moment design with ease and elegance. There is also a symmetry and simplicity to Lombardi’s work that just makes us feel calm and collected. And in this city, who couldn’t use a fair dose of calm? Lombardi is environmentally conscious in her modes of production; she uses all recycled materials and produces locally in NYC. Renewable and local are concepts that Naag really gets down with — you betta recognize.
